Welcome to my thoughts…
The image featured on this post is one of great significance to me, and I received a framed version of it from a colleague upon my recent graduation from University. It is a photo of George Lucas on set in Death Valley for Star Wars in 1976, with the man himself sat in a director’s chair observing who knows what part of one of the most influential films of the 20th century, marking a shift from cinema for cinema’s sake, to a world opened by merchandise, advertising, and endless business possibilities. The reason I enjoy the image is because it is simply, well, cool to look at.
The image was framed and given to me as a reminder of what reality I want to pursue for myself, and what life can offer those who are willing to seek to great heights. “You only get one shot at this,” my friend told me, as he reminded me not to fault myself for fear of instability post-graduation, but rather, to embrace the change in the world around me and to seek my passions in any way possible. This will and can mean a lot of things for my future, but most importantly will stick with me as a reminder of the foundation on which all my future experiences are built. That is, one of extreme love for others, a deeper understanding and empathy for those around me, and the love for storytelling and its impact on myself and others in a world filled with endless possibilities from their moving nature.
Welcome to my blog, and I hope you will read some of my thoughts as it pertains to different pieces of media across Film, Television, Businesses, and Animation. I look forward to sharing the truly bare part of me reflected in this writing, and opening up my mind to disclose my thoughts on things that are important to me.
